CEBU, Philippines — For the past three days the Land Transportation Office-7 has conducted disinfection activities in the cities of Mandaue and Cebu.

LTO-7 regional director Victor Caindec said the agency has joined the other government instrumentalities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Caindec has encouraged the public to practice discipline and cooperation.

“Helping each other in times of crisis is a great solution. Our lives are at risk we must do our utmost best to preserve it. Let us say no to virus,” Caindec said in a Facebook post.

Last Friday, the LTO-7 team conducted its first disinfection activity from the Motor Vehicle Inspection Section in Barangay Subangdaku to San Miguel Corporation in Barangay Tipolo down to Cebu International Convention Center in Mandaue City and to Basak Pardo in Cebu City.

The LTO-7 team conducted its second day and third day disinfection activities in different areas in Cebu City.

“We have one mission in this crisis, cooperation and discipline are highly encouraged,” it said.

The LTO-7 has also maintained a close coordination with the police manning the various checkpoints to ensure the implementation of the “no backride” policy.

Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture-7 announced yesterday that the Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita or KADIWA will be held today and tomorrow. The schedules were moved from April 9 and 10 because of the holidays.

Farmers joining the KADIWA event at the DA-7 complex sell vegetables and other farm produced amid the health crisis. After this week, DA-7 said the schedules will be back to normal at Thursday and Friday.

“Salamat sa suporta sa atong KADIWA. Atong tabangan ang mga mag-uuma nga padayon gihapon sila nga makapananum ug makabaligya sila panahon niining krisis nga atong gi-atubang,” DA-7 said.  FPL (FREEMAN)
