Zamboanga’s 7th most wanted nabbed in Talisay

CEBU, Philippines — Operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch arrested Monday the seventh most wanted person in Zamboanga City at Seno Compound in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.

Felix Banlaygas, 55, was arrested based on a warrant of arrest for rape issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 7 Judge Soledad Acaylar in Dipolog City. 

Banlaygas was accused of raping his 13-year-old niece in Zamboanga way back in 2005. He went into hiding in Talisay City where he worked as cockfight handler.

PIB chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Marlu Conag said they had conducted a month-long investigation after receiving information that one of the most wanted persons in Zamboanga City is hiding in Talisay City.

Conag said they are now coordinating with the Zamboanga City Police Office for the turnover of the accused. He said that operatives from Dipolog City Police Office are expected to arrive tomorrow to bring home Banlaygas. /FPL (FREEMAN)
