CEBU, Philippines — Two male minors were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and suspected illegal drugs in Sitio Bayanihan, Barangay Basak Pardo in Cebu City on Sunday dawn.

According to Police Corporal Jessie Yap of Pardo Police Station, they were patrolling around the area when they noticed the two minors boarding a motorcycle without a helmet on, so they flagged them down.

The two minors were aged 15 and 16 years old.

Yap said that when they were about to stop the two, the latter allegedly sped off. Hence, a chase ensued.

The pursuit allegedly reached up to Bayanihan in Basak Pardo where the suspects crashed when they were about to take a turn, resulting in the police catching up with them.

The authorities then found the .38 revolver firearm from the possession of the 15-year-old minor while two packs of suspected shabu were recovered from the 16-year-old.

The two are now under the custody of Pardo Police Station and are set to be turned over to Operation Second Chance facility for minor offenders in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.

They will face charges for illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs. - With Romeo Marantal (FREEMAN)
