Firm to provide garbage bins

Alicia Ivy L. Chua - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — A local manufacturing company has pledged to provide garbage bins in public places and would support the beautification project, as a support to the city government’s goal to protect the environment.

Mandaue Foam Home Store recently sent a letter to Cebu City Councilor Raymond Alvin Garcia conveying its support to the government’s goal for efficient solid waste management through proper waste segregation.

The letter was endorsed to the Sangguniang Panglungsod through the acting SP Secretary Atty. Charisse L. Piramide.

In the letter, Mandaue Foam said it launched the Garbage Bins for the Community Project wherein it will donate garbage bins that can be deployed to different public places that include schools, parks, and other public establishments.

The garbage bins are properly labeled biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable.

Also, they would support the Center Island Beautification Project along Osmeña Boulevard, from Sanciangko Street to Escario Street, where repainting and landscape restoration are scheduled.

Balayong trees would also be planted around Fuente Osmeña.

The letter has been included in the agenda of the next regular council session, as it was referred to the Department of Public Services.  GAN (FREEMAN)
