Millions worth of shabu seized from two operations
CEBU, Philippines — Illegal drugs worth at least P4 million were seized from five suspects, two of whom are minors, during separate buy-bust operations in Cebu City Friday dawn.
Police said two of the five, Benjamin Jameto Jr., 18, and Garby Jumao-as, 40, were high-value targets.
Jameto is among the four suspects arrested during the first operation in Sitio Mahayahay 2, Barangay Calamba, which also saw the arrest of Chistian Dave Dutallas, 18, a street-level target; and the two minors, 14 and 16 years old, respectively, and both high school dropouts.
Jameto, the subject of the operation, yielded five grams of shabu worth P34,000 and 17 other large packs of shabu weighing 425 grams worth at least P2 million.
Authorities also recovered five grams of shabu from Dutallas worth P34,000.
Five other grams were recovered from the minor suspects.
Police Major Kenneth Paul Albotra, chief of the San Nicholas Police Station, said Jameto was under surveillance for two weeks.
Albotra said they will investigate if the individuals arrested are part of a bigger drug group.
Also on the same day at 1 a.m., another buy-bust operation in Barangay San Roque, Cebu City led to the arrest of Garby Igot Jumao-as, 40. Seized from him was 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000. — JMO (FREEMAN)
