Council holds summit on cop’s development

CEBU, Philippines — The 2nd Police Regional Advisory Council summit is set to take place starting today at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Cebu City.

The summit is held for the police force’s transformation and development, as well as for the monitoring of the PNP's performance.

Regional Advisory Council (RAC)-7 member Eric Mendoza said that the second summit will bear the theme "The Tri-Dimensional Collaboration Towards PNP Institutionalization and Beyond."

Mendoza, who is the assigned chairman of the said summit, said this will be attended by the members of the advisory councils of various police units in Central Visayas.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 Director Debold Sinas and Police Lieutenant General Camilo, who is the chairman of the technical working group (TWG) for PNP PATROL Plan 2030, were the invited speakers in the summit.

Speaking on the Top to Bottom Institutionalization will be Police Brigadier General Sterling Raymundo P. Blanco, of the Center for Police Strategy Management director.

Police Major General Noel Baraceros, a former director, will speak on Police Strategy Management Transformation.

On the first day of the summit, the PRO-7 will also celebrate the 118th Police Service Anniversary at the same venue with the theme, "Pinaghusay na Serbisyo,Alay sa Sambayanang Pilipino."

Lawyer Rogelio T. Casurao, Vice Chairman and executive officer of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), will be the guest of honor and speaker for the event.

Lawyer Eddie Barrita, a member of the peace and order council, said the monitoring of the performance of the PNP for the whole region and the matters regarding the finance of the PNP were just two of things that will be discussed in the summit.

The summit will assess also their performance to evaluate the things they need to work further. — GAN (FREEMAN)
