Man shot dead a month after his dad’s murder
CEBU, Philippines — Not one month after his own father was shot dead, a man was shot dead inside a machine shop last Friday night in Barangay Pahina-San Nicolas, Cebu City.
The fatality was identified as Niñolito Abaño, 39, a resident of the area. He was also the son of Alejandro Abaño, the barangay captain of Barangay Jagoliao, Getafe town in Bohol.
Police Patrolman Salvador Cabasa said two men on a motorcycle drove up to the machine shop and the passenger got off, entered the shop and shot the victim several times, killing him.
Just last June 28, the victim’s father was shot dead in Bohol, police are eyeing either politics or drugs as the motive behind the murder.
Cabasa also said it cannot be said yet if the two murders are connected.
“Wala pa, under investigation pa, di pa ta kaingon karon,” he said, adding that they are still looking for the perpetrators. — BRP (FREEMAN)
