CEBU, Philippines — A man was shot dead by his neighbor yesterday morning in Sunshine Valley, Barangay Quiot, Cebu City

Personal grudge is being eyed as the motive of the attack.

Investigation revealed that victim Vladimir Despi Alatraca, 40, a resident of the village, was on board his motorcycle and he was following the suspect identified as Jersam Armecin, a car shop supervisor,  who was on board his Ford pickup.

Armecin allegedly executed a reverse and bumped the motorcycle of Alatraca.

Alatraca got irk and challenged the suspect to a fistfight but the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot Alatraca three times hitting him in the face and stomach. Alatraca sped off and escaped going to the highway.

It was also learned that the suspect and the victim had an argument a few days ago over parking space and is scheduled for settlement at the Quiot Barangay Hall at 10:30 a.m. yesterday.

Alatraca's wife, in a radio dyHP interview, said that her husband just went out to buy viand.

The day before the incident, the victim went to the house of the suspect to talk about the parking space issue but the suspect misunderstood his reasons and got mad.

Yesterday, the suspect surrendered to Police Station 10. — Diane Liezle A. Ganar (FREEMAN)
