(The Freeman) - June 17, 2019 - 12:00am

CEBU, Philippines — A 49-year-old farmer stabbed his nephew and younger brother during the 80th birthday celebration of the suspect’s father in Upper Azucena, Barili town at 5:35 p.m. Saturday.

Investigation revealed that suspect Enrique Escarpe was drunk and had a heated argument with his brother, Ian.

They were pacified by another brother, Esilito, but Enrique got mad.

He attempted to hit Esilito with a big stone but he was stopped by his nephew, Uriel Escarpe.

This further irked Enrique who immediately got a kitchen knife and stabbed Uriel hitting his right hand and right thigh.

Esilito tried to pacify them but Enrique also attempted to stab Esilito but was able to parry.  He was hit in his left elbow.

The two victims were brought to Barili District Hospital and Enriques was arrested by the police. — Ma. Mae C. Labora (FREEMAN)
