No bail for 2 drug ‘dealers’
CEBU, Philippines — The Office of the Cebu City Prosecutor has recommended no bail for two suspected drug dealers.
Edrey Diaz, 20, a resident of Barangay Sawang Celero, and Renwel Silab, 21, a resident of Barangay Suba, both in Cebu City, were charged for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Prosecutor III Noel Cellona found probable cause to indict them.
A neighbor of Diaz had tipped off the Cebu City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit (CCPO-DEU) about his illegal drug operations.
Diaz’s illegal activity was confirmed during the surveillance, said Patrolman Jayson Guinto of DEU.
The operatives then hatched a buy-bust operation, resulting in the arrest of Diaz and his cohort, Silab, on April 19.
In an inquest proceeding, both Diaz and Silab chose not to answer the allegations filed against them. Instead, they manifested to face the charges in court. (FREEMAN)
