Man shot dead in Mandaue

CEBU, Philippines —  A 20-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants last Friday around 11 p.m. in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.


The fatality was identified as Johnryl Sungahit, a resident of Barangay Guizo, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Police Officer 2 Randy Lozada said the victim was sitting inside a computer shop, waiting for his turn to use one of the computers, when three suspects suddenly arrived and shot him several times. Residents in the area reportedly heard nine to ten gunshots.

"Paghuman diri, nanagan daw to ang suspects base sa mga nakakita diri," said Lozada.

As of this writing, police have yet to determine the identity of the assailants as they were wearing bonnets during the incident. They also have no motive yet.
