LTO-7 to release 50 thousand more plates
CEBU, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office-7 will be distributing another 50,000 motor vehicle plates starting on Monday.
LTO-7 regional director Victor Caindec said car owners whose vehicles were registered in Central Visayas between March 2016 to July 2018 can claim their vehicle plates at their respective dealers.
Caindec said his office initially distributed 17,396 plates on July 5, 2018 for vehicles registered from July 2016 to December 2016.
On September 3, 2018, a total of 23, 625 vehicle plates for those registered from July 2016 to February 2017 were also distributed.
Caindec is hopeful that their backlog in Central Visayas will be solved next year as LTO’s Plate Making Plant in Manila is producing about 16,000 plates daily.
He is also hoping that Cebu will have its own plant soon to solve the backlog. — FPL, (FREEMAN)
