Sinulog souvenir shops offer wide choices for revelers

CEBU, Philippines — Sinulog is not just a fiesta for the Cebuanos but a fashion show as well.

When one wants to experience the Sinulog fun, he or she must dress up for the occasion.

For this upcoming Sinulog Grand Parade, Cebuanos must check out the Sinulog Souvenir Strip to shop and find inspiration for the perfect fiesta OOTD (outfit of the day).

Located along Osmeña Boulevard, the strip is a strategic location for locals and tourists to shop for their Sinulog get up.

T-shirts of different colors and styles can be bought at a price range of P100 to 300.

Customers may choose from the artsy shirts with beads and cuts, digital printed shirts with vivid colors, or screen printed shirts with bold designs.

Tote bags made from indigenous materials are also on display, fit for storing Sinulog essentials such as water, sunglasses, and cash.

It is important to carry light because the backpacks are highly discouraged in crowded places and the walks will be lengthy.

If one wants to go with the trend, earcuffs inspired and popularized by the newly crowned Miss Universe Catriona Gray are also available.

Accessories sold in the souvenir strip include headdresses, bracelets, masks, and hats.

Getting a henna tattoo is also easy because artists can be found in almost every corner along the Sinulog Grand Parade route. The asking price depends on the design and the size of the tattoo.

Moreover, for under P50, key chains can be bought as pasalubong for friends and families in the provinces or abroad.

Walking along the strip is a total feast for the eyes. The vibrant colors and designs of the products are really enticing for Sinulog enthusiasts to be a part of the fun. — Isabella G. Obor, USJ-R intern, MBG (FREEMAN)
