CEBU, Philippines — Police seized shabu worth P39 million and arrested a high value target during a buy bust operation in Barangay Tisa early dawn Sunday.

The suspect was identified as Jeffrey Cabaron, 25.

Pardo Police chief Regino Maramag said several drug suspects have revealed that they sourced their supply of illegal drugs from Cabaron.

They hatched the operation against Cabaron after three months of surveillance.

"May mga consolidated na intelligence information natin na tumutumbok sa pangalan niya, and nagsimula ang surveillance natin mga three months na talagang magalaw siya," Maramag said.

During the buy bust, Cabaron reportedly sold a large sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover cop.

After he was arrested, police recovered from Cabaron 3.3 kilos of shabu worth an estimated P39 million, the biggest haul of the Pardo Police this year.

Maramag said Cabaron denied being in the drug business for three months. He said he has only been selling for a month.

He said he does not know where the drugs actually come from because a man would just give him supply for distribution.

Maramag said they consider Cabaron a high value target because of the amount of drugs seized from him. He could reportedly distribute all over Cebu City and across the whole province.

Cebu City Police Director Royina Garma said the suspect was elusive and would transfer bases.

"Ganyan talaga kapag may illegal na ginagawa, palipat-lipat ng bahay, kaya this time, nung mas nagkaroon na ng traces sa gawa niya, nag-operate na agad ang team," she said. (FREEMAN)
