Korean, ‘drug pusher’ nabbed in buy-bust
CEBU, Philippines — A 47-year-old Korean national was arrested in a buy-bust operation inside a condominium in Sitio Tabay-Mabaw, Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City Thursday evening.
Dong Kyoun Kim and suspected drug dealer, 32-year-old Jeffrey Dela Peña, a resident of Aznar Street, Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City, netted shabu weighing eight grams worth P94,400.
Superintendent Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of City Intelligence Branch of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO), said Dela Peña, the main subject of the operation, delivered shabu to Kim.
Sucalit said they received an intelligence report about illegal transaction.
He said a police decoy went to area and posed as a buyer. After the transaction, the two suspects were arrested.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Pusok Police Station 5, LCPO- City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and Cebu Investigation and Detection Group-7 led by Superintendent Hector Amancia.
Kim and Dela Pena are now detained in LCPO-Holding Cell pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — KBQ (FREEMAN)
