25 nabbed, P400T illegal drugs seized

CEBU, Philippines — A total of 25 suspected drug personalities were nabbed and P400,000 worth of drugs were seized in separate buy bust operations in the cities of Danao, Carcar and Cebu City and in Consolacion town over the weekend.

In Cebu City, four newly identified drug personalities were arrested in a buy bust operation conducted by Mabolo Police in Barangay Carreta yesterday dawn.

The arrested suspects were identified as Shirley Enriquez, 38; Elvin Enriquez, 27; Rolando Areglado,  39; and Roberto Perez, 34, all residents of the said place.

Seized from their possession were four medium packs and 21 small packs of suspected shabu estimated to worth P248, 266.

Police also recovered from the suspects several drug paraphernalia and cash believed to be proceeds of their illegal activity.

All the arrested suspects are now detained in Mabolo Police lock up cell pending filing of appropriate charges.

In Danao City, 14 suspected drug personalities identified as Patrick Matugas, 23; Janice Capuyan, 23; Aquiles Jore, 37; Noel Ampolokio, 29; Jonathan Gonzaga, 39; Adrian Calzada, 23; Daryl Nunez, 22; Bernard Roble, 39; Jenifer Sangotan, 23; Kieth Vincent Perez, 29; Rodolfo Cabajar, 39; Antonio Calderon Jr., 39; Jakelin Laguna, 23; and Ferly Mae Hermosilla, 22, were arrested and a total of 54 small packs of suspected shabu worth P37, 800 were seized.

Police also recovered a caliber .38 revolver from Matugas.

In Consolacion, two former drug surrenderers, who allegedly returned to their illegal activities, were arrested in a buy bust operation in Barangay Pulpogan Saturday afternoon.

The suspects were identified as Mikel Antipolo, 33; and Angel Larliza Naquines, 23.  Seized from their possession were packs of suspected shabu worth P120, 800.

In another drug bust operation in Barangay Tugbongan and Casili in Consolacion, four street level drug pushers were arrested after shabu worth P10, 000 was allegedly seized from their possession.

The suspects were identified as Bernard Galang, Vanessa Maglasang, Traquilino Mejares and Allan Inoc.

In Carcar City, a 27-year-old man who is in the watch list of the police station was nabbed in a buy bust operation.

Suspect Rhoed Alcordo of Poblacion 1, Carcar City allegedly had in his possession P3,000 worth of shabu.

He is detained in Carcar City Police pending filing of charges. —/MBG (FREEMAN)
