CEBU, Philippines — Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go tells his bashers to join him in going around the country and serve the Filipino people.

He insisted that he has no plans of running for Senate and what he is doing now is purely part of his job.

Go is being bashed for allegedly engaging in early campaigning because he is going around the country. Yesterday, he was in Cebu to distribute assistance to the victims of the recent Ermita fire.

"Ubanan na lang ko nila. Tuyok na lang ta para makasilbi pud mo sa atong kaigsoonang Pilipino," said Go.

Despite saying that he has no plans to run for Senate, Go is thankful to his supporters who believed in his capacity and capability to be a senator.

So magpadayon ko og trabaho kung asa man ko dad-on," he said.

Go recalled that it was President Rodrigo Duterte who first brought up the idea that he should run for Senate.

Pero paghuman ato, akoa siya giingnan nga Boss, dili ko andam modagan, so trabaho lang ko," Go said.

Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino, the one who launched the "Cebu is Go" movement, said that what he is doing is to encourage Go to run for Senate.

"We need him there (Senate). Kani bang executive ka gikan ba, you have actually more experience than anyone. When you craft laws, you have to make sure you know what’s happening sa executive side like sa level sa barangay, sa local government unit etc. Bong Go has been there for more than 20 years. We need people like Bong Go sa Senate," Dino said.

Meanwhile, as the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan is fast approaching, Go encouraged the people to elect candidates who are not linked to the illegal drug trade.

Go and vote wisely," Go further said. — MBG (FREEMAN)
