CEBU, Philippines — Two men were injured when an armored car fell into a 5-meter deep ravine in Sitio Tinibgan, Barangay Panalipan, Catmon town around 7:30  a.m. yesterday.

Police Senior Inspector Romeo Caacoy Jr., Catmon Police chief, said the armored car lost control after the driver identified as Christian Ancero, 21, tried to overtake a tricycle on a blind curve portion of the road.

Ancero had to maneuver back to his lane because there was a wing van traveling the opposite lane.

In trying not to hit the tricycle, he lost control of the armored car.

The passengers of the van identified as Dante Palma, 43, and Angelo Duhaylungsod suffered minor injuries and were brought to the hospital.

Caacoy said that the armored car was going to Bogo City to collect money from an establishment.

Ancero was detained at the Catmon Police Station but was later released after the owner of the plant box and concrete posts that were damaged due to the incident agreed to amicably settle the matter. (FREEMAN)
