CSBT earns almost a million in 7 days

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) has earned almost a million pesos during the season of Christmas and New Year.

According to CSBT manager Joey Herrera, the terminal has earned a total of P774,750 in seven days alone.

The figure is close to 15 percent of the total earnings of CSBT in December, the bulk of which is credited to the seven days included in the holiday season.

In the whole month of December, CSBT collected P6,301,554.84 from all of its operations.

With each bus departing, the terminal management earns P150. This yields P543, 450. But the parking fees are not the only source of income for CSBT.

From December 22 to 25, there were 1,826 bus trips that carried over a hundred thousand passengers. From December 28 to 30, there were 1,797 trips that transported at least 98,835 passengers.

In total, the terminal catered close to 2000,000 passengers through 3,623 bus departures.

Herrera said there are some passengers who welcomed the New Year at the terminal because there were not enough returning buses to fetch them.

Yesterday, the management noticed that there is a slight increase in the number of arrivals.

Herrera said tropical depression Agaton might be one of the causes why there was a fewer number of arrivals on Tuesday, a day before work resumes.

He added another contributing factor is the cancelled ferry trips in the south.

Meanwhile, the CSBT management targets a two-percent increase in income for 2018. (FREEMAN)
