Davide, 3 others learn from Bukidnon hospital

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III and three other Capitol officials visited Bukidnon Monday to observe hospital management and learn how the provincial hospitals in the area were able to generate so much income for the government.

Together with Davide in the visit were Provincial Health Officer Rene Catan, Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino, and Provincial Board Member Christopher Baricuatro, chairman of the committee on health of the Provincial Board.

Davide said they learned some tips from Bukidnon on how to improve PhilHealth collection in the district hospitals. The governor said Bukidnon was able to generate P200-million income from eight district hospitals in 2016.

He said the amount was big enough compared to Cebu's P239.96-million income from 16 district hospitals in the same period.

"According sa ilang in-charge didto, last year niabot og four hundred million pesos ang ilang income unya they only have eight provincial hospitals while atoa two point six (2.6) million and we have sixteen hospitals," Davide said.

The governor said he said he will meet the provincial health officer, administrator and finance head to discuss possible methods to implement to increase the income of the provincial hospitals.

"Dako gyud og matabang ang PhilHealth and they must have really efficient monitoring and collection management. So mag-brainstorm unya mi with nila nga kauban nako pag adto sa Bukidnon," Davide said. — Izhar Seth Aloy (FREEMAN)
