CEBU, Philippines - The Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group-7 has arrested an alleged drug pusher who yielded over P100,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City Tuesday night.

Enrique Agular, 44, was placed under arrest immediately after he reportedly sold a medium-size pack of suspected shabu worth P10,000 to a police poseur-buyer at past 11 p.m.

The police searched Agular’s house and found two more medium-size packs of shabu and six smaller ones. The drugs seized allegedly cost around P118,000, the police said.

Inspector Joey Bicoy, team leader of RAIDSOTG, said the suspect’s illegal drug trade was confirmed in two-week surveillance.

Agular was brought to RAIDSOTG office where he disclosed that his supply of shabu comes from “Muntinlupa,” said Bicoy.

The suspect is now detained at Fuente Police Station and will be charged today for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In another buy-bust operation, three men were arrested while one of them was injured after he was shot by one of the responding policemen Tuesday night in Barangay Bantique, Bantayan, Cebu.

Mark Rubio, 34, subject of the buy-bust, suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg when he tried to fight against Police Officer 1 Isabelo Caracena, whom he sold a medium pack of suspected shabu.

Investigation revealed that Rubio tried to attack and grab the firearm of Caracena upon learning that it was a buy-bust operation.

The suspect was hit to the leg while he and Caracena struggled for the firearm.

At least 14 packs of shabu and 63 empty packs were seized by the police from Rubio and his cohort Ridney Rubio, 38. Drug paraphernalia, the P1,000 cash buy-bust money and P8,200 cash believed to be the proceeds from their illegal activity were also seized from the suspects.

Ador Bordaje, 32, was also arrested after he was caught buying two small packs of shabu from the suspects during the operation.

The three suspects are currently detained at Bantayan detention cell and will be facing charges for violating RA 9165.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle-for-hire driver was also arrested after he reportedly tried to sneak a pack of shabu into Danao City Jail on Tuesday.

Jonas Gica, 26, was arrested by Senior Jail Offi-cer 3 Jesselito Fernandez after he was caught in the act of transporting the illegal drug inside the hail past 7 p.m.

Initial investigation revealed that Gica reportedly placed the shabu inside a plastic bag full of bread.

The suspect is now detained and will face charges. — (FREEMAN)
