The Cebu Mangoes Festival returns: A glorious revival of flavor, tradition and community

The Cebu Mangoes Festival returns to The Mactan Newtown, reigniting the island’s most cherished summer tradition with a renewed sense of purpose, cultural pride and shared joy.
Running from May 16 to June 8, the festival marks its grand reawakening with the return of its most beloved signature events—vibrant celebrations that have become part of Cebu’s cultural traditions.
As the coastal township of Lapu-Lapu City comes alive with rhythm, color and the unmistakable aroma of ripe golden mangoes, guests can once again revel in the festival’s enduring highlights:
- Festival Kick-Off Parade (May 22)
The celebration begins with a lively street parade featuring mango-themed floats, costumed dancers, and drumbeaters, this time culminating in the unveiling of a 200-kg Giant Mango Halo-Halo shared with the community.

- Mango Culinary Showdown (May 23 & 24)
Culinary and hospitality students compete in creating inventive mango desserts, showcasing the versatility of Cebu mangoes through refined pastry craft and youthful innovation. Similarly, on May 24, budding chefs take center stage as they reimagine savory mango dishes, this time followed by a live cooking demonstration by celebrated Filipino chef and restaurateur Myke “Tatung” Sarthou.

- Great Mango Harvest Promo (May 31)
Guests can join the promo for a minimum spend of P2,000, single or accumulated, from any Mactan Newtown establishment from May 20 to 31. 50 winners will take part in an exclusive harvest experience, picking ripe mangoes straight from the tree with a personalized kit and guide—an unforgettable farm-to-hand experience that pays homage to Cebu’s agricultural roots.

Beyond these hallmark events, the 2025 edition introduces a host of new attractions that promise to captivate visitors of all ages until June 8—the Cebu Mangoes Food Festival, the Cebu Mangoes Festival Queen Pageant, the Mango Seed Planting Ceremony, a playful pet costume show, weekend meet-and-greets with festival mascot Jodie Mango, and MangoCoBana—a curated tasting of mango-infused dishes by top hotel chefs.
In between festivities, guests can savor even more of Cebu’s culinary richness by exploring the diverse dining options within the township. Be sure to check out Chicken and Beer, ChoobiChoobi, Bar Samurai and Geisha Lounge, Shikisai, and the Mactan Alfresco—Ayer’s Lechon, Hukad, Lolo Pinoy Grill, Manang Sayong, Tiktilaok, Mers Paluto and more.
