You know it`s already Christmas when SM malls in Cebu start unveiling their giant holiday trees.

On November 8, SM City Cebu lighted up its 30-foot giant Christmas Tree 8 at the Northwing Atrium witnessed by SM executives led by its vice president Marissa Fernan, guests, and children from Kythe Foundation, Inc. Beside the tree are 9 life-sized Christmas houses.

The celebration opened with a message from SM City Cebu mall manager Engr. Van Aberia, who thanked everyone as SM ushered in the most wonderful time of the year. “It is no secret that Filipinos love to celebrate Christmas for as long as possible. As part of our SM Christmas tradition, holiday excitement started in September with our 100 Days to Christmas countdown. Today, we launch SM Supermall`s Super World of Joy Christmas celebration, happening all throughout November and December till the first week of January in all SM malls across the country,” said Engr. Aberia.

The reveal of the Christmas tree were launched in three special sets – one set represents the Wish of Hope, the second set represents the Wish of Peace, and the third set represents the Wish of Love.

Guests then witnessed the lighting of the Christmas Tree that represents the final wish, the Wish of Joy.

SM City Cebu invites shoppers to buy and support the SM Bears of Joy, the annual Christmas charity project of SM Cares and Toy Kingdom. For just P200, one bear goes to the shopper, and another one is donated to children at orphanages.

The SM City Cebu Christmas tree is on display until January 6, next year.
