Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino Marks 20 Years

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor Ynclino - The Freeman

On the night Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino was celebrating its 20th anniversary, an image of grandeur was what all the guests felt the moment they entered the Pacific Grand Ballroom.

To welcome every guest at the beautifully decorated entrance was the ever-smiling and affable general manager Anders Hallden, dapper in his black and white suit. Seen with GM Anders was former GM Marco Protacio who graciously managed the hotel for eight long years. Also seen was Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino Hotel manager Benhur Caballes.

When Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino opened in 1998, it immediately caused a sensation for being the biggest hospitality and leisure facility in the city. Not surprisingly, the hotel became the venue of choice for large conferences, concerts by top musical artists, trade exhibits, sporting events and grand private functions. The capacious lobby with the charming lobby lounge became a beehive of activity where people met for short meetings, afternoon tea or coffee, or post-dinner drinks and tapas.

In two decades, WCCH&C has established itself as Cebu City’s premier hotel and casino, boasting of luxurious amenities and dining outlets that offer the best culinary creations. In fact, it is nearly impossible to talk about Cebu City without mentioning Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino.

And speaking of cuisine… dinner served during the celebration was but superb with a combination of Japanese, Chinese and Italian cuisine. Entertainment was fantastic and everyone was truly entertained. For those who attended the anniversary celebration, it was an affair like no other!
