Dinner concert with Kuh Ledesma to benefit cancer-stricken PNP personnel

CEBU, Philippines — OPM Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma will headline a dinner concert for-a-cause dubbed “Amore: A Night of Music and Compassion”, organized by the PNP Officers’ Ladies Club (OLC) Region 7, happening 6 pm this Saturday, March 25, at the Atlantic Hall of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

In a press conference held at Streetscape Banilad’s Morii restaurant, OLC-Region 7 President Leslie Lim said that the event is meant to raise funds for at least 45 PNP Region 7 personnel who are undergoing chemotherapy and renal failure treatments.

“OLC believes that charity begins at home, but eventually if we will grow and have more funds, we will extend the help to the dependents,” said Lim, wife of Police Colonel Elmer Lim, city director of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.

“As PNP wives, we believe that we are here to support our husbands and contribute in any way we can. We want to be of purpose to the PNP organization.”

Under Lim’s tutelage, OLC-Region 7 has held feeding programs, school supplies distribution, among other charitable activities. The “Amore” concert is their biggest undertaking yet.

“OLC has been existing for time immemorial and we felt it’s about time we have our own funds, because sometimes we are just dependent on the activities of the PNP,” said Lim. “So we decided to have a concert because we believe that the general public can attend, compared to a golf or shooting event where only a selected few can participate.”

Ledesma – whose first hit is the classic “Dito Ba?” and is widely known for the song “Till I Met You” – will be joined in “Amore” by Popera artist Jonathan Badon, Charity Diva Token Lizares, “Asia’s Got Talent” semi-finalist Angel Mistress, and Boholano theater actor-singer Genreid Estrada.

Tickets, which can be purchased at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino and SM Tickets, are priced at P4,000 with dinner (VIP), and P1,000 (General Admission). For inquiries, contact 09155353873 or 09682885686.
