It is interesting to note the emergence of more streaming applications in the country that not only provide entertainment but also help create jobs for showbiz folk who were greatly affected when the pandemic struck two years ago.

Launched last week at Club Filipino in Greenhills was Juanetworx, “the first all-around entertainment and emergency app” in the Philippines that was envisioned by the late healing priest Fr. Fernando Suarez. For just P100 membership fee, one can already have access to all their content.

Presented at the grand launch were the lined-up content that includes a program of Ed Caluag, and of vlogger-comedian Bernie Batin.

There’s also “Untold Stories of Fr. Suarez” hosted by Boy Abunda, the documentary “The Rey Valera Story: Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko”, and “Doc Willie Ong: Ang Inyong Lingkod.”

Also in the Juanetworx line-up is the life story of Lt. Col. Jhun Ibay, Jr. starring Aljur Abrenica, the sex-drama “Erotixa” featuring Christian Bables and Ali Forbes, and another sexy-suspense project titled “Ang Huling Burlesk Queen.”

According to Saranggola Media film producer Edith Fider, one of the prime movers of Juanetworx, they started as a small production thru the help and guidance of Fr. Suarez. She feels they are looking back from where they started.

“With my good friends Joven Tan and Gregorio Serrano, we started in a small production. From our humble beginning, we are now here braving the waters in putting up a digital network, Juanetworx,” she said.

Ms. Fider added that Juanetworx is her legacy – a way to give back for all the help that had been extended to her.

Aside from entertainment, Juanetworx also has a helpline, a first in the Philippines. Aside from movies and documentaries, it will show concerts and K dramas.

Viva contract star Angeli Khang plays the lead role in the Vivamax Original series “Wag Mong Agawin ang Akin”, directed by Mac Alejandre.

Among the many sexy stars of Vivamax, Angeli is said to be the most promising in terms of acting. She got very good reviews for her performance in the Brillante Mendoza-directed film “Virgin Forest”.

She has another acting ace up her sleeve in “Wag Mong Agawin”, which also stars Felix Roco.

“Every movie that I do is a challenge for me. I always tell myself that I should give my best in every project,” said Angeli.

One of her most difficult scenes in “Wag Mong Agawin” was the one of her crying with her mother, played by Jamila Obispo.

Direk Mac has a soft spot for Angeli, whom he picked to be his star in the Vivamax movie “Silip Sa Apoy.”

“I chose her to play the lead in ‘Wag Mong Agawin ang Akin’ because I believe she can give justice to the role,” said Direk Mac, adding that Angeli was able to pull off her difficult scenes. He also noted that Angeli’s acting has improved and shows sensitivity in her scenes.

Even if Coco Martin had announced on Friday, July 21, that “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” is closing its chapter after a magnificent seven-year run, critics of the show still haven’t stop criticizing it.

They say it’s about time the show ended. They say they are tired of watching Coco’s action series, that the show’s twists and turns are no longer plausible.

But no matter what the critics say, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” made a lot of viewers happy during its successful run.

It was not only a source of entertainment but through the show, Coco was able to revive the career of many actors by giving them a chance to appear in the show.

As the show comes to a close, a cast member told us there are more exciting scenes that loyal viewers can look forward to.

If you watch the series, you can see some of the cast members saying thank you to Coco for giving them the opportunity to be part of the well-loved action program.

Coco, meanwhile, is set to direct his Metro Manila Film Festival entry titled “Labyu with an Accent” where he will co-star with Jodi Sta.Maria.
