KD and Alexa are swoon-worthy in digital series ‘Run to Me’

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

“Run to Me” held a special celebrity screening on Sunday at Santolan Town Plaza in San Juan City which had the entire cast in attendance, together with their director Dwein Baltazar.

It was fun viewing “Run to Me” which had the fans present swooning and breaking into shrieks in the many sweet moments of KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad. The two lead stars have natural chemistry, as attested by Direk Dwein. Shoot was such a breeze, according to the lady director who added that the instant chemistry was palpable.

The fans who attended the preview had their fill of kilig moments as KD and Alexa showed how much they like each other, making the kilig scenes so real, as if they weren’t acting at all.

KD is very sweet to Alexa. They entered the theater holding hands and during the Q & A, there were times KD would put his arms around Alexa’s shoulders. That was enough to make the fans scream with delight.

But KD and Alexa said they don’t want to put any kind of level to the sweetness that they are showing. They are just enjoying working together and they are naturally sweet to each other.

We believe their sweetness it not a put-on and orchestrated but rather they are really fond of each other. If they are holding hands, it is not for show but is part of their getting to know each other and exploration.

KDLex also thanked their fans for the overwhelming support.

Can two complete strangers fill each other’s empty hearts and fall in love? The breakout love team of KD and Alexa will form a deep connection as they get entangled in a kidnapping incident gone wrong in their first digital series “Run to Me,” which streams on Kumu this May 20, 8 pm, and will be available for free on iWantTFC the day after (May 21). A new episode drops every Saturday.

The feel-good, romantic drama series revolves around the “not-so-perfect” lives of Jewel and Wilson (Alexa and KD). Jewel is a superstar in the streaming world who is famous for her ability to sing flawlessly while putting on make-up.

Despite her massive success online and her wealthy background, Jewel still struggles to find happiness as she constantly longs for her mother Emerald’s (Mickey Ferriols) love and affection. Jewel feels shunned by her own mother, who gives all her attention to Jewel’s younger brother Diamond (Sean Tristan), as well as their family business.

On the other hand, Wilson is also a music-lover streamer but is struggling to gain popularity in the digital scene. Because of this, he is forced to work different side jobs in order to pay for the hospital bills of his mother, Mami Bebot (Nikki Valdez), who is battling leukemia. Unlike Jewel, Wilson has always had a close relationship with his mom and he always receives unconditional love from her.

Jewel and Wilson will unexpectedly cross paths one night when he rescues her from kidnappers. However, the two will be faced with a much more complicated situation when Wilson finds out that Jewel staged the kidnapping herself – in the hopes of getting her mother’s attention – and will eventually convince him to act as her fake kidnapper instead.

As they pursue their plan, Jewel will get to know Wilson’s family and friends, and they will soon realize that they actually have much more in common when they find themselves falling in love.

Will Jewel succeed in getting Emerald’s affection? Will Jewel and Wilson find the love they’ve been longing for?

“Run to Me” is produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment, Dreamscape Entertainment, iWantTFC, and Kumu. The series also stars Malou Crisologo, CJ Navato, Karl Gabriel, Ivan Carapiet, Margaux Montana, Henz Villaraiz, Matty Juniosa, and Haira Palaguitto.
