RitKen film among 2021 MMFF entries
Julienne “Jill” Ejercito, the youngest daughter of Precy Ejercito and former senator Jinggoy Estrada, sung the campaign song of her dad.
Jill, 15, is in junior high school. She was only six years old when she discovered her love for singing. But entering singing contests did not cross her mind.
She was excited when was told that she will sing the campaign jingle of her dad.
‘Of course I felt happy and got so excited when my mom told me that I was going to sing for my dad’s campaign song. I asked help from my brother Kuya Julian to assist me on my recording since he does recording,” said Jill.
Her dream is to collaborate with Moira dela Torre and Zack Tabudo. Her favorite actresses are Jodi Sta. Maria and Bea Alonzo.
She is not yet sure if she will be acting in the future. But she wants to be known as a singer because “singing is my passion.”
She describes her daddy Jinggoy as “makulit and loving.”
We’ve listened to the campaign song as sung by Jill and for a newbie singer, she did quite well. She has a pleasing voice and she can definitely hit the high notes.
We would like to listen to Julienne sing more songs, not just a campaign jingle.

Regal Entertainment and Reality MM Studios have joined hands to tie up premiere talent agency Virtual Playground for a more stable partnership amidst the pandemic.
Virtual Playground will handle and manage the contract stars of Regal and Reality. Aside from joining hands, the three entities will also aim to discover news stars for the future projects of Regal and Reality MM.
The announcement was made in a virtual conference on December 1 by Regal Entertainment’s COO and Executive Vice President – Roselle Monteverde, Reality MM Studio’s President and CEO – Dondon Monteverde and Virtual Playground’s CEO – Charlie Dy.
All three are excited with the projects that they are planning for next year.
Roselle, Dondon and Charlie said they are looking forward to meeting together and discussing their plan of action for 2022.
Included here is to discover new stars that they can cast in movies to be done by Regal, Reality and Virtual Playground. They will be calling for auditions for prospective talents.
Dondon is hopeful that through Virtual Playground they will be able to cast new faces that they can assign to movies that they are slated to produce for Netflix and HBO Go.
“There are a lot of talented kids out there waiting to be discovered. We have discovered some of them in Tiktok and these kids are truly amazing.”
Charlie of Virtual Playground said that while they are mostly handling athletes like Brandon Vera, Ricci Rivero and Jonvic de Guzman, they have managed to crossoever and do movies as well.

Louie Ignacio can’t quite explain his feelings when he learned that his latest movie titled “Huling Ulan sa Tag-araw”, starring Ken Chan and Rita Daniela, was chosen as one of the eight official entries to the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
The film was shot in August 2020 at the time when the lockdown was enforced.
The award-winning TV-film director said it was a challenge for the production team to shoot during the pandemic.
“All of us were scared of COVID-19. We have to be strong and we also prayed a lot. We were the first to shoot after the first lockdown was imposed. But thank God, we pulled it off and none of us tested positive after the exit swab,” said Direk Louie.
He is likewise excited that the movie will be shown in theaters after the IATF eased alert levels.
“I am excited although I am not hoping to win awards because ours is a feel-good movie compared to the other entries that are more serious in terms of content. We thank God that our film was chosen. We are just going to enjoy this MMFF ride.”
He is proud of the RitKen tandem, same with the other co-stars like Lotlot de Leon and Richard Yap.
‘Huling Ulan Sa Tag-araw’ is produced by Heaven’s Best Entertainment of Harlene Bautista and opens in cinemas nationwide on Christmas Day.
