ECQ delays release of Mayor’s Isko’s biopic
Star Circuit regrets the booboo we wrote the other day. We mistakenly wrote that the producers of the film bio of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is hoping to screen the film sometime in May.
The Yorme film is really targeted for release sometime in June but we heard that director Joven Tan and his staff stopped filming when ECQ was imposed a few weeks ago. So we can’t be sure as of now if the Yorme film will be finished on time for its intended playdate in June.
We also learned that Mayor Isko’s first choice to play himself as an adult is Arjo Atayde. Second choice is Matteo Guidicelli who backed out of the project even if he wanted to do it. Matteo reportedly said he feels he won’t be able to give justice to the role of a politician. The role finally fell on Xian’s lap.
Filming has resumed for the Yorme bio flick which has ABS-CBN actor McCoy de Leon playing the role of a young Isko. This period of Isko’s life was before he was discovered for showbiz and eventually became a mainstay of “That’s Entertainment.”
So much has happened since then in Isko’s life. He entered politics, first as a councilor, then vice mayor. He is now on his first term as Manila mayor.
Many of his constituents are happy how Yorme has transformed Manila’s image since he became mayor in 2019. We hope that he finishes his full term of nine years so that he can implement his plans to make Manila a great city again.

Singer-songwriter Angela Ken, 18, got her first taste of fame via Tiktok, where her unfinished original song “Ako Naman Muna” went viral. Soon after, she was invited by Dreamscape Entertainment to join The Squad Plus, while Star Music offered to produce the full version of her song. The track, which she describes as an anthem of self-love and self-appreciation, is now part of the soundtrack of ABS-CBN’s inspirational series “Huwag Kang Mangamba” and has received over five million streams on Spotify.
With Moira dela Torre and Ben&Ben as her biggest inspirations, Angela believes her purpose is to empower and inspire the youth especially those who are suffering from anxiety and depression, and make them feel less alone through her music.
KD Estrada, meanwhile, picked up a guitar when he was 13, started lessons, and decided on becoming a guitar player, with Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix as his major influences. While he has always been passionate about music, it wasn’t until 2018 after he filmed himself singing that he would discover he could actually do both.
A Star Music artist, he has released self-written songs such as “Sa Puso Mo,” “One of Many,” and “Saves It” which is also featured in “Unloving U.” While waiting for the opportunity to record a full album, KD connects with his fans through his YouTube channel and Tiktok page where he uploads covers of his favorite songs.
