CEBU, Philippines —  The Miss World Philippines Organization, thru its National Director Arnold L. Vegafria, released yesterday an official statement addressing social media posts about Miss Eco-International 2020 first runner-up Kelley Day contracting Covid-19 in Egypt while participating in activities for the pageant.

“Miss World Philippines is coordinating closely with the Miss Eco-International organization in ensuring the health and safety of all the candidates in its recently concluded pageant,” the statement read.

“Our official candidate, Ms. Kelley Day, remains our topmost priority, and we remain optimistic as we await the result of the organizers’ routinary medical testing procedures.”

This, after the national director of Peru’s Miss Eco-International franchise, Jessica Newton, claimed thru an Instagram post that some candidates tested positive of the virus before coronation night. But the organization decided to push through with the event. She also posted that Kelly was among those whose test results returned positive.
