Iza grateful for TV5 airing of her hit drama

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

Award-winning actress Iza Calzado can very well add her role of Ellice in the much-talked about series “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” as one of her most memorable characters on television.

“Ellice would do everything for her child (played by Kira Balinger). Her family is what is important to her. I would like to thank Kira for allowing me to be a mother to her on tset. If this a preparation for motherhood, I must say it is a wonderful experience to have portrayed Ellice,” said Iza.

After all that happened in the story, Iza said Elice did the right thing for her daughter.

Iza would also like pay tribute to the production team of “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” for doing their best to come up with a very entertaining show despite the pandemic. She said the whole team worked hard to come up with a highly entertaining show that has captured the hearts of viewers.

The actress is amazed that people from all over the world find ways to watch the show after ABS-CBN was not given a franchise. That is why Iza is thankful that even for the show’s last two weeks, “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” can be viewed on TV5. She said it means a lot to them that the show can be seen on free TV.

Iza added that the audience should not miss any of the show’s remaining episodes as more revelations will be revealed. “More things are going to happen so just wait and see,” said the actress.

Iza would also like to thank the ABS-CBN management for continuing the show despite the difficulty brought by the pandemic. “We had to adjust because of the pandemic but little did we know that we are going to have a good run because of the support given to us by the audience,” she said.

Don’t miss the heart-pounding last two weeks of the hit series which airs nightly at 8:40 pm on A2Z channel and TV5.

After eight years, director Louie Ignacio is finally doing his passion project titled “Abe-Nida” for Baby Go’s  BG Productions which is also returning to film production after being sidelined by the pandemic.

Direk Louie told the press that he also wrote the story of “Abe-Nida” which has Allen Dizon and Katrina Halili in the lead roles.

“I really wanted Allen to be my lead actor that’s why I waited for him,” added Direk Louie at the movie’s story conference held Wednesday at the ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas. “I know Allen is a very good actor but I want to challenge him more by entrusting to him the role of Abe which is very interesting.”

Allen is playing a mentally-deranged sculptor while Katrina plays his wife. He is excited because the role is very challenging.

Direk Louie hopes that “Abe-Nida,” whose script it written by Ralston Jover, will bring Allen acting honors from abroad since they plan to send the movie to international festivals.

Direk Louie is likewise happy to be working with Katrina. They first worked together in “Starstruck” and he believes in her capability as an actress. “I chose her to play Nida because it fits her and I also would want to give her an interesting role.”

Both of them expressed excitement in working together in a movie. Direk Louie hopes “Abe-Nida” will be an acting vehicle that will give Katrina the recognition she deserves as an actress.

“Abe-Nida” also stars comebacking actor Leandro Baldemor and award-winning filmmakers Laurice Guillen and Joel Lamangan, Maureen Mauricio and Vince Rillon.

The movie will be shot in Paete, Laguna which is known for its intricate wood carvings.
