Janine Berdin says she spent P100K for nose job

CEBU, Philippines —  Cebuana singing champion Janine Berdin bucked the trend of celebrities playing coy – or outright denying – about undergoing cosmetic surgery, confirming in an interview with Vice Ganda that she had her nose enhanced.

In a chat with the “It’s Showtime” host for his online show “Gabing Gabi Na Vice” uploaded Sunday on YouTube, Vice directly asked Janine if she had anything done on her face.

“Yung biggest insecurity ko talaga is yung nose ko. So, yun po yung pina-enhance ko. Yung nose ko lang po,” the 18-year-old said.

“Kasi parang nasa-sad ako lagi kahit alam kong sobrang blessed ako. Ako mismo yung source of sadness ko.

Vice, who also talked about getting Botox injections and having his eyes and jaw surgically enhanced, clarified that they are not telling viewers that going under the knife is the only means to feel good about themselves.

“We are not encouraging that. Ang ini-encourage natin is you have to feel good about yourself kung saan mo yun makukuha, go,” said Vice, who was surprised to learn that Janine’s procedure was done less than a month ago, telling her it will look even better in the next months when the swelling has subsided.

After saying he only takes issue when others borrow money to pay for their plastic surgeries, Vice asked Janine point blank how much she paid for hers, to which she gamely replied that she spent P100,000.

Janine shared that her friends asked why she immediately posted photos of her new look, and told them she couldn’t stop herself out of sheer excitement.

“Sobrang saya ko lang talaga every time I open my camera.

While she would be told not to mind comments about her physical features, since her singing talent should be enough, Janine said she would still get affected.

Janine also shared in the interview that she spent three months of the lockdown in Cebu. She has since returned to Manila since she is enrolled at the Philippine Women’s University, where she is in her first year as a Communication Arts major. She said online classes haven’t been a big transition for her because she was home-schooled during her last two years of high school. – VAB
