Kyline, Yasser on lessons from the pandemic

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  Kyline Alcantara and Yasser Marta, paired up in the GMA-7 afternoon series “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit” which halted production due to the global pandemic, are eager to return to work once they’re given the green light. Answering questions sent by The FREEMAN and other media, the actors said that writers continue to send them scripts, and what they’ve read so far has gotten them excited to face the cameras once more.

Afraid that she might forget her character after quarantining for almost five months now, Kyline said she sometimes acts out her scenes at home. She felt sad when taping for the series was paused because she was already getting comfortable with the crew, as well as with the cast, which includes Nora Aunor and Mylene Dizon.

Post-lockdown, Kyline said she’d probably go out more for work and less for leisure. A homebody ever since, Yasser said the indoor life is the normal for him, as his main outdoor activity pre-pandemic was hitting the gym. He does miss embarking on long motorcycle rides where he gets to breathe in nature and fresh air.

Quarantine has been mostly spent gorging on food, cooking and baking for Kyline, while daily exercise has been Yasser’s main weapon against anxiety.

On what the pandemic has taught them, Kyline shared she’s learned to seize the moment and enjoy the present, as she’s always been the type to constantly worry about the future. Yasser, for his part, has realized the value of patience, saying it’s no joke to wait for months without certainty. – VAB
