RK Bagatsing, Jane Oineza in post-Valentine’s flick

RK Bagatsing is happy to be given the chance to play the lead in Regal Entertainment’s post-Valentine offering titled “Us Again” where he is paired with Jane Oineza. The film is directed by Joy A. Aquino.

The actor’s first solo lead was in “Cuddle Weather,” an entry to last year’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, also produced by Regal.

“Us Again” is his first full length film with Jane. Their first project together was the ABS-CBN TV series “Araw-Gabi” on ABS-CBN.

“I am happy to have a new project with Regal and to work with Jane, who is a very good actress. We are both happy and excited after seeing the trailer,” said RK.

“Us Again” tackles savoring the moment, taking risks, and giving oneself a second chance to be happy again.

This is the story of Mike (RK), a struggling artist who meets Margie (Jane), an unfulfilled medical technician frustrated to become a doctor. They had an affair and thought it was perfect. But they soon realized it was a mistake and their romance did not last. Years later, they meet again. Are they willing to give themselves another chance at love?

RK said he was able to relate to the character of Mike. “In every role that you play, there is a part of you that you give to it. If they say you seem to be not acting at all it is because at one point, you went through the same experience. Maybe not exactly the same situation as the character you are playing but you felt the same sadness and hurt.”

Having worked together in “Araw-Gabi,” RK said he and Jane are more comfortable in their scenes, including love scenes and kissing scenes in “Us Again.”

“As an actor, it is my responsibility to make my screen partner feel that she is safe with me. No matter how sensitive a scene may be, I should make my leading lady feel relaxed. With Jane, we talked about how we were going to do the scene. I asked what her limitations are,” said RK.

Would RK forgive an ex-girlfriend and give her another chance?

“If my heart can still take it, why not? For me, there is no perfect person. If someone makes a mistake but you see that she is trying to make amends every time she makes a mistake, I’d give her another chance. But if she is not really sincere in saying sorry and repeats the same mistake, I guess it is better to love yourself instead.”

RK said he is open to rekindling a relationship with an old flame. “But there should be an improvement in your relationship and you should become better persons so that your relationship will become better.”

“Us Again” also stars Sarah Edwards, Miko Gallardo and introduces Jin Macapagal. It opens in cinemas on February 26.

It is another big achievement for the Kapuso actor and people are asking if Star Cinema is planning to have another Kathryn project with him in the future.

It is sad though that Alden is being bashed because of the success of “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” But the gentleman that he is, the actor has not responded to the bashing. He takes the high road by choosing to ignore the bashers and continues to be thankful for his blessings.
