Young co-stars were scared of Maricel Soriano

Maricel Soriano makes her comeback to Regal Entertainment via the movie “The Heiress,” where she plays a mambabarang (sorceress). Co-starring with her in this Frasco Mortiz film are young stars Janella Salvador and McCoy de Leon who admitted they were scared of the actress who is known for her mataray image.

The Diamond Star said she has heard that her young co-stars are afraid of her. “Why should they be? I don’t bite,” shared the actress with a laugh. “I told Janella they should not get intimidated. As long as they do their job right, I am here to support them. If I feel that my co-star is somehow intimidated, I reach out to them to make them feel comfortable. I’d like us to be happy on the set.”

McCoy, who plays Janella’s boyfriend in the movie, considers himself lucky and blessed to be given the chance to work with Maricel. “There was one time Inay Maria even placed a towel at my back because I was sweating profusely. I was surprised and I felt she cared for me. I kept that towel as my souvenir that I’ve worked with her. It’s an experience I will never forget.”

Janella, on the other hand, said Maricel is very approachable and accommodating. “I was starstruck but she herself said I should not feel that way. She’s like a mother who is very concerned about her children. It’s a real pleasure working with her.”

Maricel says she is happy to be back with Regal which she considers her home. She started her career with the studio and Mother Lily is like a mother to her. “Every time she needs me, I will be here for her. I want her to be happy.”

Direk Frasco says Maricel is the reason we should not fail to see “The Heiress” which opens in cinemas on November 27.

He adds that the film’s non-inclusion as a festival entry might actually work in their favor. “It might be a blessing in disguise since ‘The Heiress’ is opening before the festival. November 27 is traditionally a good playdate and we have a beautiful project for our movie fans who love horror stories.”

Myko Manago is a three-time defending champion of ABS-CBN’s highly-rated “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and this made him a favorite in every Filipino home both in the Philippines and abroad. His vocal performance has been described as captivating to the soul and soothing to the heart.

A gifted singer since childhood, Myko cites the pop and R&B band, South Border, as his major influence. His musical influences also include Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Sam Smith, and Michael Buble.

Myko also produces his own YouTube vlogs by singing internationally inspired pop and R&B musical covers and posts them on his personal channel. As fate has it, these YouTube videos caught the attention of SF based RJA Productions LLC, and immediately called their local team in the Philippines to get in touch with the hottest new singing sensation.

To the words of CEO Rosabella Jao-Arribas: “Myko has a golden voice. It’s very, very soothing…gave me goosebumps when I first heard him sing. I just knew I found a real gem. The world needs to applaud such talent.”

RJA Productions LLC chose the song titled “Stuck” from Robster Evangelista, a famous young composer who has a string of hit songs under his sleeve, to be Myko’s first single. Arranged by seasoned guitarist and musical director Jun “JT” Tamayo and produced by veteran label executive Reck Cardinales, “Stuck” got its final nod for its commercial release just recently. The music video is now also available in YouTube.

“Stuck” is a nice, easy-listening type of song reminiscent of the coolness of Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are.” It is about how true love works in mysterious ways, leading you to someone who is destined for you with whom you will be happily “stuck” with for the rest of your life. If you are one of those people who’s having a hard time expressing your true feelings, this song will resonate with you. This is the best song to get “stuck” with especially during a traffic jam. Your destiny might be listening to the same song, somehow, somewhere.

“Stuck” is published by RJA Productions LLC and distributed in all digital platforms by Curve Entertainment.

Myko dreams to become a global singing sensation someday.
