Is Jasmine Curtis choosing vacation over work?

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

We are wondering what has happened to Jasmine Curtis-Smith. We heard that she refuses to work and would rather go on vacation, which is reportedly the reason why she refuses to accept movie offers and TV drama assignments.

Right after she won Best Supporting Actress at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival for “Siargao,” we heard that her manager Betchay Vidanes of Vidanes Artist Management prepared a 2018 career plan for her. When this was presented to Jasmine, she reportedly said it was enough that she already finished the movie “Siargao.” She would rather go on a holiday than do another film or TV show.

“I just finished ‘Siargao.’ I want to go on vacation first,” Jasmine reportedly told her manager, who was surprised with what she heard. She said she would rather travel with her boyfriend, hopefully abroad.

Regal Films offered Jasmine a movie that will pair her with Alden Richards. There was an offer for Jasmine from APT Entertainment for her to do a film with Alden but the project did not push through. So how can Regal schedule her to shoot if she prefers to go on a trip?

A lot of actors are eager to have movies and TV shows. They would rather forego any trip or vacation just to get a good movie project or land a major role in a TV series. But the case with Jasmine is different. She’d rather travel than work.

Jasmine should be grateful that her management team is working hard to get her good projects. She just won another Best Supporting Actress award from GEMS for “Siargao,” after her MMFF win.

Since she’d rather go on vacation, we wonder what Jasmine plans to do with the projects that her management was able to get for her? Will she do them only when she feels like it? Aba, ang ganda-ganda naman niya kung ganoon ang gagawin niya?

Well, she is pretty alright, and a good actress too, but turning down projects just because she wants to go on vacation is perplexing.

Did Jasmine feel her energy was sapped after doing “Siargao” that’s why she wants to take her sweet time and have a rendezvous with her boyfriend?

Doesn’t she know the saying ‘Strike while the iron is hot?’ Isn’t she afraid that by the time she is ready to work, no one might be interested to give her a project?

“Lip Sync Battle Philippines” goes back on the air starting April 1 at GMA Network, still hosted by Michael V and Iya Villania.

“We are not joking or pulling a prank on April Fool’s Day but it’s true we are back to make your Sunday evenings happier again,” said Michael V at the press conference on Monday. Bitoy added the show will be more entertaining on its third season.

“I am excited because we really chose the contestants very well and there will be new battlers clashing in the show who are very eager to give their all to win,” said Bitoy.

Iya expressed her gratitude in working again with Bitoy. “He is very approachable and friendly. He is always there to help me and assist me,” said the wife of TV host Drew Arellano.

Bitoy and Iya said it is their dream to feature Kapuso news anchors Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco as competitors. “I guess it would be awesome to see Sir Mike having fun with a harness on his body,” said Bitoy.

Iya joked she might lose her “24 Oras” job if she insists that Tita Mel compete in the show.

Another dream for Bitoy is to have President Duterte and VP Leni Robredo as competitors. Well, that is like wishing for the moon.

His other dream sing-off is Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. “For sure, that is going to be an exciting match. Eh sino ba ang nagsimula nang matinding dubsmash kundi si Maine? Tapos idagdag mo pa si Alden,” said the talented comedian.

“Hindi natin masasabi na may advantage si Maine kasi sanay siya sa dubsmash kasi talented din naman si Alden. I am sure kung tatanggapin ni Alden at Maine ang challenge na maglaban sa show, kapwa nila ito paghahandaan. I am sure magiging very interesting match ito,” Bitoy ended.
