Ehda M. Dagooc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  AppleOne Group announced its entry to Bohol with the development of a six-hectare low density resort on Panglao Island.

AppleOne Properties Inc. (API) chief executive officer (CEO) Ray Go Manigsaca made this pronouncement following the successful soft launching of its five-star development Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort.

At present, the company is finalizing the masterplan of the Bohol resort, said Manigsaca, whose group of companies include not just hotels and resorts, residential condominiums, but also a chain of hospitals, and construction related companies, among others.

Manigsaca expressed confidence of the renewed tourism strength particularly in Cebu and Bohol saying the appointment of Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco is a big boost considering that she is from Cebu.

“We have a very qualified Cebuana at the helm of DOT Christina Frasco. It gives me more confidence to invest in the tourism industry like more branded resorts/hotel soon,” said Manigsaca whose company is set to open the five-star Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort on September 1, 2022.

“We are bullish of our country’s [economic] recovery,” he said, the reason why the company is lining up projects and aggressive in pursuing plans that were halted due to the pandemic.

Aside from Bohol, Palawan is also the next location for AppleOne expansion, He added.

“I’m very bullish about our recovery, tourism and the whole economy in general,” said Manigsaca.

AppleOne is also the new owner of Club Serena Resort in Moalboal Cebu, and developer and operator of Diamond Suites.
