Ehda M. Dagooc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is planning to submit a formal position paper to the Office of the President soon to make their wish-list be known to the incoming administration.

In an interview with CCCI president Charles Kenneth Co, he said that he will consult with the chamber’s members of the board to draft a letter of support, at the same time enumerate Cebu business sector’s wishes to the new set of government opinion makers, to be led by the Philippine’s presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

According to Co, requests such as pushing the impending projects under the Regional Development Council (RDC-7), including the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), roads, proposed international ports like in Consolacion, are just few of the many developments Cebu could anticipate and the business sector hopes these can be implemented within the Marcos Jr., administration.

CCCI may soon finalize its list of wishes to the new administration after consulting the chamber’s board members and business prime movers.

With the re-election of Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, whose political party supported the Marcos-Duterte tandem, Co expressed confidence that Cebu will gain advantage in terms of fast implementation of proposed infrastructure projects.

Bringing the voice of the business sector in Cebu, Co hopes that by expressing their wishes and offer of support to the new administration, this will foster faster growth within the province, especially that the economy is still trying to get back on its feet again.
