CEBU, Philippines —  At least 14 hotels and resorts in Cebu are now offering cheaper accommodation rates in a bid to boost business recovery.

The Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association (HRRAC) has inked partnership with WhyQueue, an e-store for affordable luxury hotels, to host the first-ever Cebu Christmas Sale 2021.

WhyQueue is at the forefront of establishing a seamless voucher sale, especially during these times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spearheaded by HRRAC and its board members, Cebu Christmas Sale was formally launched will on November 16, 2021 and will culminate on December 30, 2021. All vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Guest who would love to book room and dining vouchers may visit cebusale.whyqueue.shop or visit individual property's shop via cebusale.whyqueue.shop/ its property name.

Participating hotels and restaurants are the bai Hotel Cebu, Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, Dusit Thani Mactan, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino, Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, Bayfront Hotel, Cebu Whitesands, Costabella, Mezzo Hotel, Amethyst Boutique Hotel Cebu, One Central Hotel, and Durhan White Beach Resort.

HRRAC is capitalizing on the easing of travel restrictions to attract staycation guests not just from Cebu, but across the Philippines.

The sale offers a wide array of exclusive discounts from room accommodations and dining offers and other perks in time for the Yuletide season.

According to HRRAC president Alfred Reyes, the Cebu Christmas Sale 2021 will be the first of the many sale partnerships between WhyQueue and HRRAC.

Battered by the coronavirus crisis, Cebu’s hospitality industry is rising above the challenges by staying in business albeit slow.

Reyes said even with the easing of the restrictions, occupancy rate of most hotels is still at low point, although business for weekends is generally recovering, particularly for resorts.

On weekdays, however, hospitality sector still suffers with the absence of foreign tourists and MICE (meetings, incentives, conference and exhibits) bookings.
