CEBU, Philippines —  With businesses affected by the continuous threat of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Be Group is steadfast in posturing confidence.

“We face the setback with a positive mindset and a proactive stance,” said Grand Benedicto, president of Enrison Holdings Inc., the developer of Be Hotels and Resorts, and Be Residences.

This posture of confidence led the Group to launch the BE Cares program at the onset of the ECQ in March 2020.

“We first made sure our people are well taken care of. We adjusted work schedules. We learned and got used to doing more online meetings to practice distancing, which proves to be cost efficient in managing different properties. Even before COVID-19, we were already conducting regular misting to disinfect our offices and the common areas of our office buildings, provided air purifiers equipped with hepa and UV Filters. We have kept ourselves busy enhancing our health and safety protocols across all properties including the resorts,” explained Benedicto.

Like everyone else, they admitted that its businesses are affected by the pandemic.

“I don’t think anyone was prepared for this. We closed down offices for a few weeks to help mitigate the spread of the virus and ensure the safety of our personnel. The hardest hit would be our resorts group as it is highly dependent on international arrivals and influx of foreign tourists.”

In its residential property BE Residences, contactless transactions are highly encouraged for BE Residences buyers so they do not have to physically deposit their payments. Sellers’ commissions are transferred online though our banking partners, so sellers don’t have to go to the office to collect.

Promo financing was also offered to investors to make it easier for them to invest in a property at this time. Virtual tours became the company’s norm for buyers who wanted to check out its model units and the property locations.

Likewise, BE Resort Mactan housed a BPO company in the first quarantine period.

Currently BE Resort Mactan is offering affordable stay packages to help Returning Overseas Filipinos feel at home and de-stress while waiting for their connecting flights.

“Our people are regularly trained to ensure that health and safety measures are implemented,” he added.

“For both brands, BE hotels and resorts & BE residences, digitalization is key and we have been consistently maintaining our presence online. While we are all anticipating the New Normal, our group has been pushing to level up our standards to deliver the BEtter Normal,” said Benedicto.
