Bicester Cafe reopens ahead of June schedule

Ehda M. Dagooc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  Homegrown Bicester Cafe joins a few restaurants and dining joints in Cebu for business reopening after the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). The cafe officially reopened its Mahogany Place branch on May 23, 2020, way ahead of the scheduled June 1 business reopening in Cebu, after two and a half months of ECQ.

However, due to strict mitigating protocols to avoid spread of coronavirus, Bicester only accepts take-out and delivery orders.

In a statement, Bicester management assured consumers that proper protocols on safety and sanitation has been put in place.

“Our staff underwent further training for food handling. Face shields are also provided for extra safety,” said Bicester co-founder Atty. Rejzl Awit.

The Cafe has tapped major delivery services brands like GrabFood, Foodpanda, and it also has established its in-house delivery service to ensure efficient service.  In-house deliveries cater to selected areas in Cebu City without service charge for orders worth P300 and above.

Bicester Cafe also is making itself available for online inquiries via social media channels like its official Facebook page, and landline (032) 262 5209, mobile phone 09189207210 connections. Bicester Cafe is an all-day brunch and coffee place at Mahogany place located along Pope John Paul Avenue.

The new normal, which brings in a challenging market environment for dine in food businesses, like restaurants, has not stopped this local dining cafe to test the new environment.
