CCCI to conduct HACCP Training

CHAMBER BEAT - The Freeman

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) continues to offer training programs for its members and the Cebu business community to support them remain competitive in an environment where increasing fast paced changes and technological disruptions has become the new normal.

With this, CCCI invites its members and the Cebu business community, specifically those from the food manufacturing sector to participate in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Training to be on September 24 – 25, 2019 at the DOST 7 Regional Office, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

The training-workshop course is designed to give managers and workers in the food industry an appreciation and understanding of HACCP as a tool and technique to ensure food safety.

HACCP is a systematic preventive approach to food and pharmaceutical safety as it addresses physical, chemical, and biological hazards to prevent contamination of processed food and pharmaceutical products. HACCP as a system identifies potential food safety hazards so that key actions, known as Critical Control Points (CCPs) are proactively undertaken to reduce or eliminate the potential risks of the identified hazards. Risks are identified and addressed in all stages of food processing, packaging, and distribution.

The course taps into the rich information culled from the Codex Alimentarius Commission, ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems Guide, World Health Organization, Faood and Agriculture Organization, WHO/FAO, US National Restaurant Association ServSafe, and UK-based Chartered Institute of Environment Health to provide food safety managers and workers a comprehensive guide of their role in establishing an effective food safety management system in their companies.

The resource speakers of the training-workshop are food safety experts who are members of the Cebu Food Consultancy Group (CFCG).

Investment fee is P5,000 for CCCI members and P6,000 for non-CCCI members.

For registration and further inquiries, one may call the CCCI office at 232 1424 and 0921 871 8063 and look for Ms. Julie Nabong Jr. or e-mail [email protected].
