Enzo Pineda eyeing a Cinemalaya Best Actor award

After appearing in the Cinemalaya entry “Sundalong Kanin” in 2014 where he got noticed for his acting, Enzo Pineda returns to Cinemalaya via the romance film “Malamaya” where he is paired with sexy actress Sunshine Cruz.

He is excited with the project since he joined the Cinemalaya auditions before he was cast in this film. He was actually eyeing a different Cinemalaya film but he did not get the role. But when he was told about “Malamaya,” he thought this is probably the project meant for him.

He is excited to work with Sunshine who is also being managed by ALV Management, one of the movie’s co-producers together with Spears Productions.

“Malamaya” has some kind of sexiness to it and Enzo is fully aware that he and Sunshine have to do several intimate scenes.

“I am ready for more mature roles,” said the actor who is a mainstay of the Kapamilya morning drama “Nang Ngumiti ang Langit.”

Through “Malamaya,” Enzo wants to send a message to film directors that he is ready to accept any role as long as the script is good and will challenge him as a performer. If ever there are scenes that would require nudity or skin exposure, as long as it is vital to the movie, he won’t hesitate to do it. Doing such scenes means he trusts his director that much.

He wants to establish himself as an actor and is dreaming of winning the Cinemalaya best actor award.

“Life is short. If you want to dream then might as well go for the biggest one. I am hoping to win and I know it would mean a lot to me. I want to be recognized as an actor,” said Enzo. “The reason why I am accepting challenging roles is because I want to prove to myself first and to other people as well that I am an actor.”

“Malamaya” is directed by Leilani Chavez and Danica Sta. Lucia. Also in the cast is Raymond Bagatsing who figures in a love triangle with Enzo and Sunshine.
