CEBU, Philippines — Publicly-listed property developer ArthaLand strengthens its lead in adopting strict sustainable operations in the Philippines.

The company was recently recognized as the “Best Eco Property Developer (Philippines)” by the prestigious CFI.co (Capital Finance International).

CFI.co is a London-based print journal and online resource reporting on business, economics and finance, recognizes that the traditional distinction between emerging and developed markets is now far less meaningful as world economies converge.

ArthaLand has made sustainability part of its DNA, ensuring that its staff understands how to operate in a sustainable way, and why that’s necessary.

ArthaLand staff are educated about the environmental problems today that are threatening a prosperous future tomorrow, and they spread environmental awareness throughout the communities in which they operate.

The company, which has also started its entry in Cebu, through the 38-storey ”Cebu Exchange” building along Salinas Drive in Lahug, is one of the hard-core green building advocates in the country.

As part of its strong sustainability commitment, the company discourages single-use plastics for their shameful disregard of the planet. The company also looks at the higher costs of sustainable building materials as necessary investment for all future-proof homes.

The result is a world-class development organization, which applies the same high standards to all its developments, and is continually implementing appropriate innovations.

ArthaLand’s Arya Residences project was the first home development in the Philippines to undergo dual compliance: the US Green Building Council’s LEED green building certification and the Philippines Green Building Council’s BERDE classification.

The CFI.co judging panel believes more developers should follow ArthaLand’s initiative in putting the environment at the heart of the planning and decision-making processes.

The judges declare ArthaLand winner of the 2018 award for Best Eco Property Developer (Philippines), and commend the company’s efforts to spread the environmental message to the wider community through its team and its policies.

Arthaland is the property development arm of CPG Holdings Inc., the company behind the Century Pacific Food Inc., the country’s largest canned food company the maker of Century tuna, 555, Argentina and other canned goods household brands.
