Chamber Beat: CCCI and AFOS hold training for PLUS students

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with AFOS Foundation for Entrepreneurial Development Cooperation, convened again its students from the K to 12 PLUS Project in another management training for the pilot students from the Food Manufacturing Cluster.

 

The students from the Construction Cluster had their basic entrepreneurship training with Sub-Contracting and Basic Construction project management last December 3-5, 2018 at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

After a month, the pilot students from the Food Manufacturing Cluster attended the “Basic Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Training and Business Law” last January 10-12 at Seda Cebu Hotel.

The 3-day management training had Chef Anecto Garcia as resource speaker. Chef Garcia is a business consultant, a former Economics professor at the University of the Philippines and a senior pastry chef. During the event, he presented on the topic trends in food business, raw material source and business planning.

On the last day, the PLUS students from the construction cluster who already had their earlier training joined the food manufacturing cluster in a session where it mainly focused on business laws and consumer rights with Kyle Adrian Durano as speaker.

Durano also served as a Business Counselor of Department of Trade and Industry - Go Negosyo.

For the totals, there were 11 students from the Food Manufacturing Cluster who got trained and another 11 students from the Construction Cluster who joined on the 3rd day with all in all 22 K to 12 Plus students.

CCCI offers GAP training to farmer-members of Lamac

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Department of Agriculture Region VII, conducted the 3-Day Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Training to farmers.

The training was held on January 7-9 at the Lamac MPC Integrated Organic Farm, Pinamungajan, Cebu.

There are 32 farmer-members of Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative successfully completed the said program. The training aims to raise awareness to farmers about GAP and is taken as part of the initiative by the Lamac MPC to enable their farmers to be GAP Certified.
