CEBU, Philippines — The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (CanCham-Cebu) slates a property briefing with Canada-based research and consultancy firm, Colliers International to update its members on the latest performance and forecasts of Cebu's property sector.

Slated on March 21, CanCham-Cebu president Felix Tiukinhoy announced that Colliers International Philippines research manager Joey Roi Bondoc will present Cebu's current state in property market, as well as the forecast path of the sector in the next couple of years.

Backed by studies and actual market research, the briefing is expected to give a glimpse of Cebu property sector, its opportunities and threats.

Over the past few years, we have observed the transformation of Cebu’s skyline with large-scale residential, commercial, retail, and hotel developments. The property boom in Cebu offers an alternative metropolitan paced business lifestyle at a discount to Metro Manila.

Its real estate sector is particularly unique as it is actively participated in by both local and national developers. The entry and aggressive expansion of national developers have redefined the Cebu property landscape.

To survive a fiercely competitive real estate market, Colliers will present recommendations to both property buyers and developers during the briefing.

CanCham-Cebu under Tiukinhoy's leadership has been in the forefront of promoting Cebu as a preferred retirement destination for Canadian nationals, as well as Filipinos now living and working in Canada.

According to Tiukinhoy Cebu has been able to carve its name as the ideal site for retirement among Canadians and Filipino-Canadians.

The standard upgrading done by some larger hospitals in Cebu, is a big plus why Cebu is becoming competitive as an alternative retirement destination. (FREEMAN)
