29 arrested for drugs in Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines — At least 29 persons were arrested for drugs in Metro Manila over the past two days.
Among those arrested were Rosalito Guard, Rommel Arsenic and Rowelyn Satias, who were caught in separate stings in Barangay Cembo, Makati yesterday.
Guard and Arsenic are on the police drug watchlist and Arsenic has a pending case of frustrated homicide.
Col. Rogelio Simon, Makati police chief, said 49 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P26,400 and drug paraphernalia were seized from the suspects.
In Mandaluyong City, Antonio Nuez Jr., 48; Vincent Sta. Teresa, 46; his younger brother, Rene, 44; Randy Encomero, 33, and Josephine Torio, 47, were arrested in a sting at the Tree Top condominium at around 3 a.m. yesterday. Among the items confiscated from them were six sachets of shabu.
Five others were arrested in eastern Metro Manila and 17 in Quezon City. – Non Alquitran, Emmanuel Tupas
