A total of 17,843 units were sold by members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. last month, down 18.3% from March.

The Department of Tourism on Tuesday said the erring resort in Caloocan City, operating despite the implementation of a ban on leisure activities in areas under modified general community quarantine, is also not DOT-accredited.

"The records submitted by [resort manager] Aleli de Guzman, showed and confirmed at least 500 registered guests and visitors on Sunday," the complaint reads. 

"The point is that this should serve as a lesson and warning again to all others, not just the establishment but including the barangay chairman. They need to find a way to make sure this won't happen again," Eleazar said.

The WHO classified B.1.617 as a “variant of concern” as some available information suggest it has increased transmissibility.
