Wagdos, Ramirez burn rubber in Taiwan
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ Sonny Wagdos and Frederick Ramirez vented all their Southeast Asian Games frustrations as they topped their respective events in the Taiwan Open over the weekend.
Wagdos and Ramirez, who settled for a silver and bronze in the Phnom Penh Games just over a week ago, showed determination in topping the 400 and 10,000 meters with clocking of 47.02 seconds and 31 minutes and 18.55 seconds, respectively.
For Wagdos, it was a memorable one as he registered a personal high.
“They both scored solid performances with Wagdos registering a personal best,” said Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association secretary-general and executive director Edward Kho.
Clinton Bautista snatched a bronze in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.92.
