10-man Converge rips Terrafirma

MANILA, Philippines — Ten-man Converge showed enough firepower to rip Terrafirma to shreds, 119-82, and chalk up a winning start in the PBA On Tour yesterday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The FiberXers gunned down seven triples in the second period to storm to a 25-point margin off a close 22-20 contest and go into the break way ahead, 57-40.

Not easing on the pedal, coach Aldin Ayo’s charges widened the gap to 27 after three and a high 41 in the fourth before settling for a 37-point final margin.

Ayo had only 10 players on the bench for their opening game but each one did his chore well to help Converge pull through.

Justin Arana and Jerick Balanza topscored with 24 apiece for Converge.
